Here’s What Readers Are Saying!

Many other reviewers are talking specifics, I’m going to talk broad strokes. Heather possesses a new, funny, dark, complex and thoroughly entertaining narrative that will pull you into this fame-destined list of players that will keep you up way past the time you’d allotted to read. Psychosis? Murder? Love? Deception? Affairs?…and EXACTLY WHAT happened that one night long ago? Heather O’Brien keeps every page alive. Motives, loves, assaults of the soul, secrets; lets not forget the very fragile, troubled, and the grotesquely perverse–they’re all there in the recording business. There’s the angel, the mentor, a mastermind with a motive. I rooted for Farin,–for her talent, her journey, her ascension. But what happens behind the scenes?– the reality behind the life of super-stardom, is anything but. Be prepared to be shocked, shaken and terrifically moved. I cannot say enough about the great writing!

– Ryan Rayston (Author, The Quiet Sound of Disappearing and Softly Goes the Water)

I’d assume most authors set out to make their readers laugh, cry, and swoon, but few authors succeed. Heather O’Brien in one of the few. I was so mad at Farin during the story that I nearly tossed it across the room. I felt so sad for her at other times I wanted to dive into the pages and hug her and comfort her.

She is the kind of generational talent as a singer and musician that the media pounces all over, and her rise to fame has profound impacts on her life. She is a flawed woman, but a champion and a hero. Her struggle to embrace life and to love with abandon will ignite in you a yearning to live in ways you’ve never lived.

Sure, Lockhardt Sound is a novel, but you could easily read it as a book of inspiration on how to get the most out of life and how not to. I can’t wait to read the next book in the saga. I was blown away and you will be too!

A beautiful and sometimes tragic tale of love, passion, and remorse, all entangled against the backdrop of the music industry “ways.” The creative pacing is spot-on for this romantic suspense novel; the characters are well-developed–you often feel both love and hate for a few of them at the same time! Really gets your heart involved. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading more from Heather O’Brien.

A heartbreaking story of a girl who cannot let go of the past of any past. Farin holds onto heartbreak and it swallows her whole. As a reader you cheer for her to win against all the emotional battles and dangerous situations. The writing is descriptive and pulls you in, I stayed up late to finish the book. I had to know what was going to happen next!

The journey with the lead character Farin will make you laugh and cry. Even though she becomes one of the Hollywood elite her emotions are still that of an everyday broken woman, and that heartbreak is relatable on all levels. The writer drew me in so much so that I stayed up way later than I should have to finish the book. Then she leaves you with a cliffhanger! I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

This book was heartbreaking and beautiful. It was epic and I can’t wait for the next book. I was completely enthralled from the beginning to the end. I hate cliffhangers, but I have a feeling that it’s going to be worth it.

An absolutely entertaining read that kept me gripped to each and every page. I was engrossed in the relationships between the characters. I felt immediately pulled into the storyline and couldn’t put it down. An absolute must-read.

Lockhardt Sound was a really fun, fast paced read that’s full of secrets, romance, drama, mystery and so much more. The pacing was good, plot amazing, and characters unique. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book sucked me in and took over my life. I could not put it down. It’s a page turner, and turner. This author did her work, hands down. She didn’t just throw a story together, but she created something real. At times, I forgot this was a book and not real life. Jordan is such a sweet guy. You can’t help but love him. Then there’s Chris. You’ll hate him, but you still love him. You can’t help it. And Farin, I want to be Farin in my next life. I envied her. I followed this story to the end of the book, feeling as though I had stepped into their life. It was real, emotional, and so captivating. Each character is so well developed. Her style is like no other. If you want a really good book, then look no further. It took me four days to let go of this story once I finished. Great job. Your hard work speaks for itself.

I could not put this book down, I read it in three days! The author keeps you guessing what will happen. The characters are all described very well and you can see in your mind what they would look like. There are so many twists and turns that you cannot wait to turn the page to find out what happens. I think this book is written much better than most movies today. The afterward at the end gives you a glimpse at what will happen in the second book of this series and I am so glad I already have it. Kudos Heather O’Brien, you are a very talented writer and I look forward to reading all of your books. Keep them coming.

Read this book, and have to say I couldn’t put it down. Extremely intelligently written, with so many twists and plots. I think I’m quite smart and could predict the plot, you guessed it, I was completely wrong. And for a guy to be emotionally drawn into a book…. That I didn’t expect. To begin by either liking or loathing characters, then later doing a complete 180. The story plots and characters really come to life! I just wish I had half of her imagination. Where’s book two? That’s why it’s good. So I’d encourage anyone to read.

First, it was refreshing to read a book that had more than the usual 200 pages. The 500+ pages kept me involved whole time. Heather brings her characters to life. I see a movie in the future for this book. I can even imagine the actors that could do justice to the characters. Farin is such a great character (even her name is different the most). I can’t wait for the 2nd and 3rd installments.

I have known Heather online for a number of years. I was so excited to be able to read her, no pun intended. She has opened up so many avenues of intrigue through this book. Now she needs to get going sending out the next one, dammit. She had me suspended on the edge … what next? Then she just left me there……snarl. Anywho, the first is wonderful, suspense, edge of your seat drama…I highly recommend this book to anyone who has lived through the maze of family matters. Heather has done a lot of research and it shows. Kudos Heather. Now get on with the plot, dammit, smirk.

Heather, this book was absolutely fantastic. I am looking for a Lifetime movie to be made. Your description took me right there. Farin’s beauty, Jordan’s chivalry, Chris’ absolute narcissism and Jameson’s power was so detailed and visible. I really really really want to read the 2nd of this trilogy, oh and the third one. I feel like I am a part of it and I know these people. The emotions that you bring out in the reader are very powerful. I thank you very much for this book and look forward to some more.

If you enjoy a good drama, with sex, lies, murder, and show biz, then this is the book for you! I could not put this book down! Once I started, I couldn’t wait to find out “what happens next!” The author does a great job at introducing you to the heart, soul, and mind of each character, which makes the mystery aspect of the story that more intriguing! I’m really looking forward to the sequel so that I can find out “what happens next!)

– Marci Leifson

I loved the book. Once I finally started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. I even caught myself crying in parts of it while I was on a plane. I had to make sure nobody saw me. I would recommend the book to all my friends and family.

A must read…is an understatement. I really have no words for how great this story is. I read book one a few years ago and it hasn’t left me yet. I cried for hours after I read that last chapter. I didn’t think think the author could keep the story alive after book one, but she did. I got sucked into book two. Then I finished book three last night. I prolonged reading it because I know that’s it for a while, until book for comes out. And, I knew it would suck me in as well. And I knew I would cry. And I did. I’m a Chris fan and will hold my breath until they are together. I don’t know why this couple have a grip on me. It’s the writing. I have to remind myself this is a book and Chris, Jordan, and Farin are characters. This story is woven in so many twists and page turning lines that I literally have to force myself to stop reading. My heart is in this story and that rarely happens to me. Usually, once I read a book it’s ‘ok, next.’ But with this series, I still hold the book even after it’s been read. You will never be the same after reading this story. That’s because the author has done her job. I can’t wait for book four.

– Emily Conner

As with book one, I cried when I read this one. No story or movie has ever gripped me the way this one does. I read book one a few years ago, but the impact it left me is still as strong as when I read that last page. Then I read book two. I didn’t think I could because how can the story continue after what happened in book one? But I wasn’t disappointed. The story does continue. It took me a while before I could read book three because there’s now this ‘wait’ for more. But I finished it today, and cried. I have to remind myself these are characters in a book and not real. It’s going to take me a while now to come back to reality. I don’t know why this story isn’t a movie already. It doesn’t get better than this. Guess I will have to wait for more to see when Chris and Farin come together. Until the next book is ready, I’ll relive the story in my heart. Honestly, there are not a lot of days that go by that I don’t think about Jordan, Farin, and Chris.

I read the original Ties before the re-release. I look forward to reading the re-release to see what changes are in store for me. If you love a novel that has character development, heroes to vote for and villians to hate, romance, intrigue, mystery and a well thought out plot then your going to love Ties. I laughed and cried but I never put the book down. I have just ordered the next book Embers and am anxiously waiting to see how the saga continues. I recommend this book to anybody that truly enjoys getting lost in a good story!!!
